Bio

Kimberly Derting is the author of fast-paced, easy-to-read and entertaining novels for teenage readers. Her books reflect the sometimes dark and gloomy days in the Northwest area of the US where she resides. The Body Finder series and The Pledge trilogy are suspenseful mysteries that contain expressive dialogue, romance that touches the heart and exciting drama.

Her writing career began in childhood when she made homemade coloring books using sheets of blank paper stapled together and tried to sell to sell them to her neighbors. Although as a young adult she had dreamed of becoming a veterinarian or a truck driver, this changed when as a 7th grade student she attended her first journalism class. In high school, she was the yearbook copy editor.

While in college she thought about becoming a doctor and became a Biology major focusing on classes such as Cellular Biology, Calculus, Physical Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology.

Derting practiced writing her first novel when she was twenty-years-old. Her published works include The Body Finder, The Last Echo, Desires of the Dead, Dark Queen, and Enthralled: Paranormal Diversions as well as books that have been published in German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

She has lived in various places including Phoenix, AZ; Boise, ID; and San Jose, California. Her home is now in the Seattle, WA area where she resides with her husband and three children.
