Well, phew, 2012 has been insane.

In a good way. Really.

On December 12th, 2011, I welcomed my son into the world. Technically that didn’t happen in 2012, but the whole getting accustomed to having a new member in our family thing took up the first few months of the year. During that time, I was also revising the sequel to SLIDE (IMPOSTOR, which comes out in March). I definitely had my hands full.

Then I got to see SLIDE, my first novel, on the shelf at Barnes and Noble. I have to admit, there were some tears. HarperCollins sent me on tour with Kimberly Derting and Dan Wells, and I got to meet tons of amazing people!

Also in 2012 I finally got serious about my health. Shortly after my book tour, I realized that munching on Oreos during revision hadn’t done my figure any favors. I started Weight Watchers and really tried to be more active. So far I’ve lost over fifty pounds. I feel truly fabulous.

So, to sum up, 2012 was the year of babies, books, and losing my bootie! I hope your year has been just as wonderful.

Story Crush and Epic Reads asked me to share one of my favorite things from 2012. I spent a lot of time considering this, and I believe one of my most powerful tools for weight loss success is my pedometer. I try to take 10,000 steps every single day.

    MINE IS TO be more empathetic towards others. And to act upon it, such as not being a bystander, and helping people if who need it even simply holding doors :)

    To finally finish the C25K running program. I’ve been working on it for a year, but keep being forced to start over when my allergies get the better of me.

    I have several goals for 2013. One is to create more balance in my life – I always take on so much and its gets very overwhelming.

    My goal is to desintoxicate my life from people that are toxic, those you can never satisfy, that criticize you behind your back and so on.
    I realized that I thought that I was blessed that someone was letting me be part of their lives, but forgot it also goes the other way around, all those people are also lucky for being in my life and some of them have overstepped boundaries and its time to show myself some respect and stand up for myself and in some cases terminate the relationships.

    My goal for 2013 is to get to the gym at least 3 times per week. Also, to be patient while waiting for Impostor to hit shelves! :) Happy New Year!

    I’m just thinking about my goals for 2013, and one is to exercise at least two times a week. It’s not about weight, but I want to be healthy. :)

    Also, read 100 books. This year I just read 80 :/ and I really wanted to read 100.

    One of my goals for 2013 is to lose weight. I’ve tried sooo many different ways and they all fell through. And when I got a car, it all went completely out the window. I was no longer walking anywhere meaning I now got zero workout in. I tried diets, I tried water diets, I tried PX90, and intensity workouts. I’ve tried going to the gym. Nothing ever worked for me. Unfortunately I cant hire a professional trainer to live with me because I can afford it. So for 2013 Im trying a new thing. I’m getting two jars, a ‘healthy’ jar and an ‘unhealthy’ jar. Each day I eat healthy, no junk food whatsoever, five dollars go into the healthy jar, for each day I dont eat healthy and slip I put one dollar in the unhealthy jar. The money that goes in the jars is money I am allowed to use to shop. So the more healthy I eat the more clothes I can buy. I really hope that it works! I am so determined this time.

    I want to take better care of myself. I need to see better doctors, cut the people out of life who are bad for me, and do actually do what the doctors tell me.

    Congratulations on doing so well with your fitness goals! That’s great. I also want to get back in shape. I have been working on my first manuscript(!) and sitting around all day has done horrible things to my waist. I have been looking into purchasing a pedometer, so thanks for the recommendation!

    I have a few resolutions this year that I’m determined to stick to but the main overarching theme (i.e. goal) is to love myself. Love myself physically (be healthy and active by working out and eating right), mentally (stop reinforcing negative beliefs), and emotionally (put my needs first and don’t let other people make me feel something).

    One of my many goals for 2013, is to spend more time outdoors or at least not on something digital…like my laptop, and iPod.

    I’m so happy for you losing so much weight! I would indeed feel proud of myself! I’m trying to maintain my weight and possibly lose 10 pounds! It is harder than it sounds!
