We’ve tried to keep you in the loop with casting updates, Dolly Parton-related buzz (possibly our favorite kind), and now we’re going to give you everything you could need in this easy one-stop DUMPLIN’ guide! For more info on the official Netflix announcement, check out THR!

Shall we get into it?

Update: Here I Am

LISTEN UP, Y’ALL! Dolly Parton has released the first song from the official DUMPLIN’ soundtrack and it already has us in ALL our feels. This update on her classic has been turned into a duet with Sia and it is so raw and emotional that we cannot WAIT to see what comes from the rest of this album. IT’S GOING TO BE SO GOOD! Listen below!

The Book

Not caught up on Julie Murphy’s #1 New York Times bestseller? There’s still time!

Dubbed “Dumplin’” by her former beauty queen mom, Willowdean has always been at home in her own skin. Her thoughts on having the ultimate bikini body? Put a bikini on your body. With her all-American-beauty best friend, Ellen, by her side, things have always worked . . . until Will takes a job at Harpy’s, the local fast-food joint. There she meets Private School Bo, a hot former jock. Will isn’t surprised to find herself attracted to Bo. But she is surprised when he seems to like her back.

Instead of finding new heights of self-assurance in her relationship with Bo, Will starts to doubt herself. So she sets out to take back her confidence by doing the most horrifying thing she can imagine: entering the Miss Teen Blue Bonnet Pageant—along with several other unlikely candidates—to show the world that she deserves to be up there as much as any twiggy girl does.

Along the way, she’ll shock the hell out of Clover City—and maybe herself most of all.

The Movie

RELEASE DATE: TBD

Though we don’t know when exactly DUMPLIN’ will be coming to our screens, we do know some things! It’s directed by Anne Fletcher (AKA the queen behind iconic movies such as The Proposal and Step Up), and the screenplay was written by Kristin Hahn. Jennifer Aniston, in addition to starring, is also one of the producers! She’s been incredibly outspoken in promoting body positivity, and you can read some of her thoughts on body image and sexism here! Plus, what it’s like working with Dolly Parton.

Oh, and did we mention? Not only will the movie feature Dolly Parton songs—but will also have BRAND NEW MUSIC, WRITTEN BY DOLLY, FOR THE MOVIE!!

The Cast

Are you ready to fall in love with them all?!

Danielle Macdonald as Willowdean Dickson (AKA, Dumplin’ herself!)

Hailing from Australia, Danielle is best known for Patti Cake$. Her latest character, Willowdean, decides to enter the (somewhat) prestigious Miss Teen Blue Bonnet Pageant to show the world her worth. We couldn’t be more excited for Danielle to bring Willowdean to life underneath the starry Texas skies and set to a Dolly Parton-soundtracked backdrop!

Jennifer Aniston as Rosie Dickson

If you have eyes and ears, you’ve most definitely heart of everyone’s favorite Friend (sorry Chandler. Not sorry, Ross). Jennifer Aniston plays Will’s mom, former beauty queen, Rosie Dickson. We can already picture the enthusiasm and energy she’s going to bring to the role and we feel confident in saying that it’s a perfect fit!

Luke Benward as Bo

Former worm-eating preteen and our current DUMPLIN’ crush (we promise if you love Kavinsky, you’ll fall head over heels for Bo), Luke Benward plays Private School Bo, Will’s coworker-turned-boyfriend. Don’t count yourself in for regular teen soap drama, because Bo is one of our fave YA characters for a reason and we cannot wait to see him brought to life by Luke!

Dove Cameron as Bekah Colter

Dove Cameron rose to fame for her turn in Liv and Maddie playing… both Liv and Maddie. Since then, she’s also played an antagonistic Ruby on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and we cannot wait to see her bring that attitude to the role of Bekah in DUMPLIN’! Dove is one of our favorite rising actresses and we’re so glad she found a place on this all-star cast!

Other cast members include…

The film also feautres Odeya Rush as Ellen Dryver, Will’s best friend, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Hannah, Maddie Baillio as Millie (shout out to PUDDIN’!), and Ann Mahoney as Millie’s mom.

We already love them so much, you guys!! So much!!!
