Can you believe it’s September already? Where did the summer go? Even though we are sad to say goodbye to hot days and long nights, we ARE looking forward to cooler weather, falling leaves and snuggling up with a good book and a cozy blanket. So if you’re looking for something new to read, we suggest checking out this month’s book club pick: TIGER LILY by Jodi Lynn Anderson!

FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NOT READ IT:
Tiger Lily is unlike anything you’ve read before. Yes, it is a retelling. Yes, it is about Peter Pan. No, you cannot predict how the story unfolds. No, you won’t be able to get this book out of your head days, weeks and possibly months after reading it. Tiger Lily is one of those perfect books to read when you want to refresh your bookish palette. Here are some key facts to know:
1.) It is a stand-alone novel. Hesitant to start a new series because you’re committed to so many already? No fear! This is a complete story in one book.
2.) It is narrated by Tinker Bell. Yes, this is told from a third person point of view, but because Tink is a faerie, she has heightened capabilities. She is able to go a little deeper into the thoughts and feelings of Tiger and Peter, much deeper than a traditional third person POV would normally go.
3.) This book takes place BEFORE Wendy shows up.
4.) This has nothing to do with the Disney movie, although if you want a quick refresher on who the characters are, we’d suggest watching it!
5.) Be prepared to cry. This is a tough one, folks. It’s happy, it’s sad, it’s romantic, it’s funny. It’s a little bit of everything, but if you’re looking for something to tug on those heart strings, then this is a good one for you.
Now that you know some quick facts, why not start reading the book? Click here to browse inside and read the first couple of chapters to get you started. We’d suggest you read the whole thing before heading over to the Tiger Lily discussion forum or downloading the discussion guide because there WILL be spoilers!
In the meantime, here’s the trailer!
