ABOUT

A laugh-out-loud funny, surprisingly romantic, zombie road trip novel filled with heart—and brains. Eat, Brains, Love is perfect for fans of Isaac Marion's Warm Bodies.

The good news: Jake's dream girl, Amanda Blake, finally knows his name.

The bad news: it's because they both contracted a mysterious zombie virus and devoured the brains of half their senior class. Now Jake and Amanda are on the run from Cass, a teen psychic sent by the government's top-secret Necrotic Control Division to track them down. As Jake and Amanda deal with the existential guilt of eating their best friends and set off in search of a cure for the zombie virus, Cass struggles with a growing psychic dilemma of her own—one that will lead all three of them on an epic journey across the country and make them question what it means to truly be alive. Or undead.

Book Description

Of all the recommendations on that stupid career aptitude test, not one of them was "undead fugitive."

Jake is a slacker burnout whose idea of the perfect last night on Earth is playing video games in his basement.

Amanda is the most popular girl in school, who doesn't even know Jake's name.

Cass is the teen psychic sent by the government to hunt them down.

Until last week, Jake, Amanda, and Cass had no reason to think their lives would ever intersect. But that was before Jake and Amanda contracted a mysterious zombie virus, devoured half their senior class, and took off for Iowa in search of a cure. As the two of them grapple with the existential guilt of eating their best friends (and their growing attraction to each other), Cass struggles with a psychic dilemma of her own—one that will lead the three of them on an epic journey across the country and make them question what it means to truly be alive. Or undead.

This is one of the light hearted uber funny book that i've read. Almost every page has its humor and the characters are gleefully executed. Amanda, love interest of jake is a popular student (so most of them are snobbish people who almost always say "whatevurr"). but i was surprised that she is not annoying and is actually dependable in times of danger. Jake (the protagonist) is your typical teenage boy who loves to lax and play video games and his character is easy to love. Btw, if youre a gamer, you can highly relate to this lovely book. there are terms like npc, hadouken, world of warcraft etc so you'll be lol-ing if you are a gamer and pass by this pages.
The only thing that lacks in the book are the descriptive parts. like i was alaways wondering what would the characters look like(got used to V.C Andrews higly descriptive novels vs. this teen book). The author didnt point out that too much. Like, Jake, he didnt describe him if he was tall or short, pudgy or whatever. I need the visuals to you know. BTW, the book is left hanging because it stopped when they were just beginning to find the cure. This is Josh Hart's first book so i really got surprised by that and i love him, i love him so much already. HIGLY RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYBODY.
