I know it may sound childish but I love the book BROWN BEAR BROWN BEAR,WHAT DO YOU SEE? And I quote from a website on bannned books,"This beloved children's book was banned in January 2010 by the Texas Board of Education because the author has the same name as an obscure Marxist theorist, and no one bothered to check if they were actually the same person."But,my question is why are they banning "THE SCARLET LETTER"?

I can't believe this, but Like Water for Chocolates was banned from my school for sexual content. Romeo and Juliet has more sexual content, and we were required to read it. It was an amazing love story/ recipe book. It was about a girl, and her lust for a man, who promised to love her forever, and they were in love, but her mother forbade it, and now there is a lot of sexual tension between them. They banned it from my school because of the sexual tension, but the book is from Latin America where EVERYTHING is spicy. That book was rated PG compared to a lot of other things. I cannot believe that they banned it because of only 15 angry parents. That was an amazing book. Next thing you know, they'll be banning The Princess Bride. Gosh. Some people have no culture.

Is it just me, or does being told that you cant have something make you want it more? When Iwas told by my church that I couldnt read Harry Potter it just made me want to read the books more then ever.winking smiley It's so sad that now that we have finnaly gotten a generation of kids that likes to read we are trying to take away their books! It makes me so angery!
