Audiobooks are a fabulously immersive way to dive into our favorite books, and we’ve always been fascinated by the process and by how much work goes into making them. So, naturally, we snuck into a recording studio to get a glimpse of where the magic happens—namely, the audiobook of Sarah Dessen’s latest bestseller, The Rest of the Story. Sarah is, of course, the bestselling author of over a dozen books, and her newest follows Emma Saylor, a girl who reconnects with a part of her family AND falls in love with her childhood best friend in what shapes up to be a truly *epic* summer.
The Rest of the Story presented a perfect opportunity to learn more about the audiobook recording process, as we got to shadow a total PRO. Voice actress Rebecca Soler (and our new BFF Tony) showed us around Studio A and shared her tips and tricks to narrating a book.
Oh, and real quick—the best thing we learned? Rebecca’s FIRST EVER audiobook recording was Lock and Key by none other than Sarah Dessen.
We love when things come full circle!
This video is a total must-watch, and we don’t want you to miss it! Scroll down for this epic look behind-the-scenes!
