Would You Survive Your Own Fairy Tale Adventure?

Once upon a time there was a reader. And that reader is you. Yes, you. That’s right, you’re about to embark on your own fairy tale adventure. Surprise! Happy reading!

We’re in a total out-of-the-box fairy tale mindset because of Damsel, Elana K. Arnold’s stunning, twisted, dark, and stereotype-shattering new fairy tale.

In Damsel, a girl named Ama wakes up in the lair of a dragon, in the midst of being rescued by a handsome prince. It’s obviously custom for her to return home with him, and it seems as though she’s dreaming, like she’s living in a fairy tale. But she soon realizes that this fairy tale… isn’t a happy one. Or even what it seems. This book had us hooked from the very start and would not let us go, so we started thinking… what would life be like if we were in a fairy tale? Would it be happily-ever-after? Or would we want to get out of there ASAP?

Take the quiz below to tell your own fairy tale and find out if you’d survive the adventure!

Would You Survive a Fairy Tale Adventure?

About Damsel

A dark, twisted, unforgettable new fairy tale…

The rite has existed for as long as anyone can remember: When the king dies, his son the prince must venture out into the gray lands, slay a fierce dragon, and rescue a damsel to be his bride. This is the way things have always been.

When Ama wakes in the arms of Prince Emory, she knows none of this. She has no memory of what came before she was captured by the dragon or what horrors she faced in its lair. She knows only this handsome young man, the story he tells of her rescue, and her destiny of sitting on a throne beside him. It’s all like a dream, like something from a fairy tale.

As Ama follows Emory to the kingdom of Harding, however, she discovers that not all is as it seems. There is more to the legends of the dragons and the damsels than anyone knows, and the greatest threats may not be behind her, but around her, now, and closing in.
