Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Today’s post is a two in one. One is to unbox my December @parnassusnext and announce the signed first edition selected for January! (Parnassus Next always announces it’s selection a week or two before boxes ship so no one misses a book they want.) . ✨ I’m excited about the author line up on “Three Sides of a Heart: Stories about Love Triangles” which is an anthology of 16 short stories featuring a wide range of diverse characters. I’m not usually a big fan of love triangles (does anyone really like them?) and ironically that’s part of the reason I want to read this. Just thinking of 16 authors specifically writing about it makes me curious about how they approach it. Has anyone already read it? What were some of your favorite stories? (also, if you’re curious, this one was signed by the editor Natalie C. Parker and not all of the short story authors.) This box also came with two enamel pins for Julie Murphy’s books! . ✨ AND the January selection is: Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed, which received three starred reviews as well as a lot of good reviews from early readers. "It's the story of Maya Aziz, a Indian-American Muslim teen who must cope with Islamophobia, cultural divides among both her peers and her parents, and a reality she can neither explain nor escape.” . ✨ I had not heard of Samira Ahmed’s Love, Hate, & Other Filters before, so I’m excited to have something on my radar that I haven’t seen around Instagram yet. . ✨ Today is my brother-in-law’s wedding! So we’ll be celebrating all day long. How are you spending your Saturday? #threesidesofaheart #lovetriangle

"I don't know what's worse: living without love so that you don't get hurt, or getting hurt repeatedly in an attempt to find it." – Kheryn Callender, This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story THIS IS THE CUTEST THING I HAVE READ IN A WHILE. Kheryn Callender has written a beautiful love story with lots of highs and lows all while embracing that contemporary vibe I love so much. Nate and Ollie's story is so good! I also love the way they wrote the sign language parts (Ollie is deaf) and all the little nods to film classics! ALSO. This is set in SEATTLE, hometown pride! 5/5 STARS There is a moment that Nate tells a story of how his Dad bought Pan's Labyrinth thinking it was a kids movie and it traumatized him and MY MOM DID THE SAME THING. Pan's Labyrinth ruined my childhood there for a bit 🤣 whoops! ANYWAYS, if you guys are looking for a cute and funny romance, definitely check out "This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story!"

The weekend is SO CLOSE! After yesterday I'm ready for a break. Work was pretty hectic so it'll be nice to chill for a couple days. I'm STILL reading like 6-7 books and making zero progress on any of them 😂 it's too early for a slump! (though I think mine is more because I've been busy) Do you fall into reading slumps? While you're here, @shelleysackier's #TheAntidote released this week and sounds fantastic! (plus THAT COVER 😍). I haven't heard much about it but the synopsis has me hooked! I'll drop it below so you can check it out! . . . ABOUT THE BOOK Magic is not allowed, under any circumstances — even if it could save someone’s life. Instead, there are herbal remedies and traditional techniques that have been painstakingly recorded in lieu of using the mystical arts. Fee knows this, so she keeps her magic a secret. Except her best friend, Xavi, is deathly ill. He’s also the crown prince. Saving him is important, not only for her, but for the entire kingdom. Fee’s desperation to save her friend means she can barely contain the magic inside her. And after the tiniest of slips, Fee is thrust into a dark and secretive world that is as alluring as it is dangerous. If she gives in, it could mean she can save Xavi. But it also means that those who wish to snuff out magic might just snuff her out in the process. . . . . . #yafantasy #epicreads #yalit #coverlove #novelknightreviews #goreadyourshelf #bookoftheday #bookaesthetic #booktography #becauseofreading #booksofig #booksbooksbooks

Happy Sunday! . . I got so busy that I didn’t get a chance to read « What if it’s us » yet, but definitely want to. Simon versus the Homo sapiens agenda remains my favorite so far. I haven’t read books from Adam Silveira yet, but I will start with this one. 😊 . . . . Have you read any of them? . . . I was tagged by the lovely @amanda.the.bookish to do the #janbooktag ❄️ . . ❄️ Leftover chocolate (a book you're tired of seeing) : None. . ❄️ Feeling poor (a book you spent too much money on) I don’t remember buying a book more than the usual price. . ❄️ Chocolate orange (a book you didn't expect to love but did) Sky in the Deep. . ❄️ Shortbread (an old favorite) Germinal . ❄️ New year, new me (a genre you plan to read more of) mystery/ thrillers – I realized I don’t read much of this genre. I got myself Sadie… we shall see. . ❄️ Gift (a book you received) the last book I received was Dream Keeper. . ❄️ Taking down the decorations (a book with a minimalistic cover) car woman, the edition I have is minimalist yet elegant. . ❄️ Scrapping the junk food (a book you'd get rid of) I regularly give away books I have multiple copies. . ❄️ Leftover wrapping paper (a story that was wrapped up perfectly) If it’s the story, I would say Hunger Games. If talking about actual wrapping, I don’t remember. . ❄️ So many mince pies (guilty pleasure) – Preorders and bookish boxes . . . . . #leahobtheoffbeat #theupsideofunrequited #simonvsthehomosapiensagenda #whatifitsus #diversebooks #thegentlemanguidetoviceandvirtue #yareader #yareads #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #yafiction #yafantasy #yalovin #yalit #yabooks #booksofinstagram #bookworm #booknerd #bookgeek #bookaddict #bookaholic #igreads #bibliophile #tbr #winterbooks #ireadya #yabookstagram #amreading

💋 • Do you have a favorite author? Because I don’t, its so hard to pick just one🥺😂 But if they all collaborated on a book im sure the world will explode 😂, that’s something i pray for 🙃 • I wanna see Sarah J Maas and Kerri Maniscalco make a book but I can’t really pinpoint what type of book it can be. Their writing techniques are so different but i bet they could complement each other 💜 • • #jennyhan #toalltheboysivelovedbefore #shelfie #books #bookstagram #bookworm #booknerd #booklove #instabook #booklover #bookaddict #bookaholic #bibliophie #booktography #bookhaul #bookphotography #bookblogger #igreads #ireadya #booknerdigans #tbr #bookgeek #booktag #yalit

I have to share with you all about this book I recently read- #stolentime by Danielle Rollins. You guys I LOVED this book!! It was fantastic! It’ll release February 2019 by @epicreads 🖤🖤🖤 SUMMARY Perfect for fans of Kiera Cass and Alexandra Bracken, this sweeping time-travel romance follows a girl groomed for deceit and a desperate young pilot on their journey to prevent a devastated city from collapsing into chaos. Seattle, 1913 Dorothy spent her life learning the art of the con. But after meeting a stranger and stowing away on his peculiar aircraft, she wakes up in a chilling version of the world she left behind—and for the first time in her life, realizes she’s in way over her head. New Seattle, 2077 If there was ever a girl who was trouble, it was one who snuck on board Ash’s time machine wearing a wedding gown—and the last thing he needs is trouble if he wants to prevent his terrifying visions of the future from coming true. But destiny isn’t an easy thing to pin down in this twist-filled trilogy, and with the irresistible romance of Outlander and sci-fi scope of Passengers, this is one cliffhanger that’s sure to have readers counting down to the next installment. 🖤🖤🖤 #bookrecommendations #ilovebooks #bookish #flatlay #epicreads #harperteen #goodreads #readergrams #bluebooks #igreads #bookstagrammer
