It feels surreal that A Very Large Expanse of Sea is finally, really, truly out in the world. We’ve been looking forward to this book since the day Tahereh announced it, and you guys, we fell hard. But we’re not the only ones—we love seeing all the love for it from y’all as well!
I finished reading A VERY LARGE EXPANSE OF SEA by @TaherehMafi this morning and all I can say is WOW! It's a book that I know I will think about for a long time. I loved every bit of it! It comes out tomorrow & I highly recommend getting your hands on a copy if you can! 📖

IT’S HEREEEEE 😭💕
By far the best YA contemporary I’ve read all year. So excited for this beautoful, important story to be in the world 💖 pic.twitter.com/J6nvOAWavu— whitney atkinson (@whittynovels) October 15, 2018
In A Very Large Expanse of Sea, you’ll meet Shirin, a girl whose anger and fear and frustration will hit you like a heartbreaking brick in the best possible way. She’s tired. Of people making assumptions about her because she wears a hijab, because she’s a Muslim, and because she’s a brown teenager post-9/11. But when she meets Ocean (who, by the way, is total swoon), she has to learn to break down the walls she’s been strategically building up to protect herself.
And if that isn’t enough to convince you, we have this gorgeous teaser trailer to give you a more aesthetic sense of the book!
